Material Analysis and Assessment

In line with our performance-based design and development approach, we specialise in the analysis of building materials using modern methods. We therefore also offer the chemical-physical analysis of your material in order to
  • describe and assess its performance,
  • identify new potential applications,
  • recognise possible damage and its causes.

We offer classic standardised tests for a wide range of building materials, but in particular also analysis using modern scientific methods. These are

X-ray Diffractometry: mineral composition, determination of the amorphous content of materials.

Mercury Porosimetry: Determination of the microscopic pore size distribution.

DVS Analysis: Characterisation of the sorption behaviour of building materials, moisture absorption and release of materials depending on the ambient climate.

Helium Pycnometry: Determination of the pure density of a material.

Reaction Calorimetry: Determination of exothermic reaction enthalpy, characterisation of heat release in chemical, physical or biological processes.

Thermogravimetric Analysis: determination of the molecular composition of materials using microweights during thermal stress (up to 1600 °C), determination of the physically and chemically bound water in a material sample.

Scanning Electron Microscope: optical microscopic analysis and characterisation of materials.
